Hey Maverick Fam!
It's a great time for the tattoo community! The artwork continues to bleed into so many different facets or our lives and if you are a lifelong student like us here at Maverick then you enjoy growing and developing your craft.
One of our very own, Maverick Family Artist's Krish just hosted a seminar in NYC, teaching fellow tattooers techniques and skills that has helped Krish produce some of the most beautiful pieces we have seen.
Krish has been one of our Maverick Family Artists since the beginning. We are so grateful to have the participation of such a talented artist. Krish has consistently showcased our products over the years and has participated in our projects that have been brought to all of you! Krish was one of the first spotlight artist, Side Hustle and our very popular sticker collaboration.
We are so excited to announce that we teamed up with Krish on this seminar giving out samples of our product to artists that attended this private and intimate event. Thanks to Krish for all of the LOVE!

On February 18th, I had the opportunity to guide two very special participants and great artists through an in-depth exploration of the Neo Romantic and Neo Traditional tattoo styles with my very own Tattoo Seminar. This seminar held significant importance for me, marking my first venture into this educational domain. The overwhelming support and interest from fellow artists and the tattoo industry upon announcing the seminar were surprising and heartwarming.
·
The primary goal was to provide a comprehensive overview of these styles in a private one-on-one setting, emphasizing a learning experience rooted in my very own personal experience and personal approach in these styles. It was also extremely important for me to create a dynamic learning experience, where not only were they going to learn about the basic theory, but understand what and who inspires me as an individual artist. What gave shape to my style and how I got there. Look through my own inspirational material like books, analise pieces of art and historical context to understand the foundations. We also delved into specific design techniques, covering creative mediums and composition principles that define the aesthetics of Neo Romantic and Neo Traditional tattoos. With this seminar, I wanted to share a part of myself but also guide them to finding themselves as unique artists and individuals in the field.
·
One of the key aspects covered was the selection of a personalized color palette for this style, emphasizing how it contributes to enhancing the emotional narrative within each tattoo and also represents you as an individual artist. The seminar also included practical insights into the meticulous preparation process, covering station arrangement, looking into machines, the importance of quality supplies and needles, laying the groundwork for a successful tattoo session.
Of course with Maverick tattoo supplies, this part was easily covered! It always fills me with pride to share such exceptional supplies and this definitely contributed to the overall quality and enjoyment of the seminar.
·
The main part of my seminar was the live tattoo demonstration, this is where I felt most comfortable and could really explain myself as a tattoo artist. It is where everything explained takes shape and is finally palpable. It also served the participants as a step-by-step guide, covering everything from initial line work to the final stages of color application and gained valuable information and tips throughout the process. The experience finalized with my photography process for accurately showcasing on social platforms. Overall, with this seminar I wanted to provide an experience, fostering a deeper understanding of my Neo Romantic and Neo Traditional style of tattooing but with an inclusive and personal energy.
·
Despite being my first seminar experience, it was an honor to have people interested not only in this special tattoo style, but also in hearing about my personal experience. It is a very humbling and fulfilling experience and I believe that sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative learning environment is crucial in the tattoo industry. Artistic expression flourishes when it is shared, discussed, and built upon collectively. This seminar underscored the importance of not only creating beautiful tattoos but also imparting the skills and insights that contribute to the growth of artists as individuals. The exchange of ideas and the enthusiasm displayed by the participants reinforced my belief that teaching and sharing art are essential components for the continued evolution of the tattooing community. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity and am now inspired to explore avenues for creating more content, perhaps even considering a video seminar. The prospect of extending this collaborative learning experience to a wider audience is both exciting and something I eagerly look forward to.
·
Finally, I want to extend my most heartfelt gratitude to my dear Maverick family. Thank you for all the support not only during this seminar but literally since day one. There are no words to express how wonderful you all are. A huge thanks for sharing goodies and top-quality tattoo materials for this Seminar. The attendees were genuinely thrilled with the kind gifts, and it added an extra layer of excitement to the entire experience. Having Maverick supplies be part of this, not only enhanced the learning environment but also underscored the importance of collaboration in the tattooing community. Thank you for making this seminar a memorable and well-equipped event for everyone involved!
